In yesterday's lesson, we did a range of physical warm-ups to wake up up and keep us alert on task. It made up build a better relationship with, and understand, our body.
Head, Heart, Guts and Groin:
We also did vocal warm ups where we walked around the room and said our lines to other people, which then developed into a conversation with eachother; this showed us how to make the lines in the play more conversational.
Speaking from the head was about just saying the line with minimum emotion.
We then moved around the room and said our lines in other ways. One way was leaning into the wall, and pushing all of our body weight into the wall while projecting our voices, to say the lines more aggresivly and angrily.
Another way was to lean our backs into the wall and say the lines in a softer, and more sensual, way. This showed us that we can say the lines in a range of ways to portray the characters' emotions and feelings.
